June 3, 2017 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm EDT

Angelika Film Center, Fairfax, VA

The Angelika Theater, Fairfax, VA will roll out the red carpet for the American History Film Project Exhibition. Students from all 50 states are invited to submit short films about their hometown history.  Projects are archived on AHFP website and the best are seen at this annual national exhibition. The best of the past three years will be shown at the Angelika this weekend.  The American History Film Project challenges children in grades K-12 to create a 3-10 minute film about their hometown history, a local event or person, and in doing so, U.S. History becomes alive for students and they exercise communication skills. In addition to the best out of state docu-dramas, comedies and commentaries by kids, several Fairfax and Alexandria student films will be shown to kick off the county’s 275th birthday. Early check-in at 2:30 for free tickets at AHFP table at Cafe entrance. Seating limited.  #Kidsfilmhistory

The event is free and open to the general public.
